Ava Mobile Base

Ava Mobile Base is a breakthrough platform developed to help robot designers, application developers and market innovation specialists expedite the pursuit of practical mobile robotic solutions for commercial environments.

Ava goes beyond traditional localization, path planning and collision avoidance, using features such as omnidirectional mobility and dynamic obstacle detection to deliver elegant, human-like motion that makes workers and guests at the host site immediately comfortable with its presence and movements.

It's navigation includes intelligent behaviors account for architectural features common in commercial environments: door detection and traversal, ramps behaviors, thresholds traversal, and more.

ADVANCED MOBILITY

Ava features intelligent, autonomous navigation. Users simply specify a destination, and Ava automatically moves to the desired location. Built-in collision avoidance allows the robot to safely navigate around people and objects without bumping into them.

OMNIDIRECTIONAL MOBILITY

With its omnidirectional mobility system Ava can quickly align itself sideways even as it moves. Unlike a traditional differential drive system, Ava can easily move through tight spaces or adjust its positions without the need for traditional "maneuvering"

PROVEN

Built on the Aware®️ 2 technology developed at iRobot, and proven at hundreds of locations, including office spaces, hotels, convention centers, hospitals, retail, factories, and labs, Ava is the industry's most advanced mobile platform.

JOHNSON CONTROLS SECURITY ROBOT

The Johnson Controls (JCI) Security Robot powered by the Ava Robotics Mobile Base includes sensors, touchscreen and cameras to streamline security operations and improve operational efficiency, delivering unprecedented workplace monitoring and security capabilities.

JCI used Ava's cloud APIs to integrate the robot into the total security solution, so that the robot can respond to alarms such as forced doors, and allow rounding for remote security guards, scheduled and controlled from the software systems that JCI's customers already have deployed.

MIT CSAIL UV DISINFECTION ROBOT

With heavy demands on food banks across the country, the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) needed a solution to not only help arm their warehouse against the novel coronavirus but to also ensure the safety of their staff. When MIT approached our team, we couldn't wait to provide the Ava platform and work together on a solution.

The result after four short weeks of collaboration was a disinfecting robot with a custom UVC lamp assembly atop an Ava base: capable of disinfecting a 4,000 square foot warehouse at the GBFB in just 30 minutes.

VERIZON 5G CHALLLENGE RECEPTIONIST ROBOT

Ava Robotics was one of five start-up teams to win a place in the MassTLC 5G Robotics Challenge sponsored by Verizon and Ericsson.

The challenge was to build a 5G-enabled concierge robot, which was achieved by combining the Ava Mobile Base with a new payload designed to enable guest interaction.

Using the Ava Mobile Base allowed for a robust and reliable solution with fast development time.
